ALS Clinics: The Chapter supports two Centers for ALS Care. The clinics are located at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, and Loma Linda University Medical Center, Redlands. The Chapter is working with Kaiser Permanente to replicate the clinic model at its medical centers at Kaiser Sunset, Riverside and South Bay. The Chapter has committed to having an ALS Association case manager and/or Director of Patient Services on-site at these Kaiser ALS clinics. The Kaiser Sunset clinic began operation in collaboration with The ALS Association in February, 2009.

All of the above mentioned ALS Association clinics are accessible to patients who are registered with our Chapter.  For those patients who do not have transportation to travel to one of our ALS clinics, the Chapter will coordinate and fund appropriate transportation. The transportation that the Chapter coordinates and funds will accommodate power wheelchairs and allows for a caregiver to travel with the patient. Transportation services are also available to patients registered with the Chapter in order that they can attend ALS Association activities, such as Support Groups and special events (e.g., Ask the Experts educational symposium).
