Duo Plays On In 2004, Eric Lowen, of the acoustic singing/songwriting duo Lowen & Navarro, was diagnosed with ALS. At the time, Lowen and his singing/songwriting companion of 25 years Dan Navarro, were cutting their 9th album. Navarro gave Lowen the option to quit so he could spend time with his family. But, Lowen wanted to finish what they started. More than two year later, Lowen's ability to play guitar chords has deteriorated, but he continues to live out his dream. Dan Navarro (left), Eric Lowen Photograph by Jay Blakesberg Lowen and Navarro work with the Greater Los Angeles County Chapter to raise awareness and funds. At most local shows, someone from the chapter sets up a booth and passes out information. On June 16th Lowen and Navarro played a show at The Mint. View photos from the show.
Lowen and Navarro DVDs Are Here
Lowen & Navarro performed a benefit concert for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter at Kulak’s Woodshed in North Hollywood. The benefit concert was Eric’s way of fighting back against ALS and raising funds to ease the battle for others in his situation; the live webcast format of the concert was a way for Eric and the Chapter to increase awareness of the disease.
